TRANSITION FROM RELAXED TO NATURAL HAIR

"Everyone is flaunting natural hair, how I wish I hadn’t applied chemical into my hair in the first place. In fact, this relaxer is doing more harm than good to my hair. How I wish!!!"
Well, don’t be so sad, let make your wish come true, there is still hope after all. There are two ways to this: it’s either you cut your hair (aka Big Chop) and start all over again or you make the natural hair grow underneath, while the relaxed-part break off. The big chop is the highly recommended way of transition because this will give the chance to create healthy growth, but not everybody can do that sacrifice, hence, they opt for the transition method. Please note that the process can be a bit painful and you will feel like giving up, but you should always look at the brighter side.
The Rigid Mind stage
Before venturing into the “natural hair” journey, you need to have a rigid mind about it. People will try to talk you out of it, especially the chemical-hair people *giggles* Please do not listen to them, even they feel you’re not doing it the right way. There is no stated procedure for transition; all you need is to understand your hair and the scalp. The rigid mind comes into play when you see a huge amount of the relaxed hair coming off, and you feel like you’ll go bald very soon. You need tom keep the rigid and optimistic mind about the hair
Chemical Elimination Stage
The first huge step you need to take is to stop the use of chemicals on your hair. No more relaxer, bleach or hair dyes. A natural hair is the hair that has not been chemically processed. Hence, you need to suspend all form of chemical in order to get you desired texture. When you stop applying chemical, there will be a difference between the hair textures, this is called the Demarcation. Let your main focus be the thick hair growing on your scalp.
Tender Stage
This is where the real job begins; you need to take good care of your newly growing natural hair. Deep conditioning, Trim your hair regularly, Braid/twists your hair mostly, find a good styling product, keep your hair moisturized always, stay away from heaters/dryers, do not brush too often, detangle braids and weaves carefully and try not to expose the hair every time.
The Wow Stage
Well-done! You did it, after the rigidity, elimination and tender process. You can now enjoy your natural hair and flaunt it like others. People will glance at your hair and Wow!!! And you will be satisfied within you
The above process is easier said than done, it takes time, patience and commitment, but I know you can do it once you make up your mind towards it. Have a Good Transition Journey!
